About Me

...So after I had this blog all up and running, I realized I never had anything to introduce myself with! Anyway, I am Danielle Wilson (which I assume you've already figured out) and I'm a doula (soon to be certified with DONA) and a photographer.

One of the first things people notice about me is that I'm very tall. In fact, I'm six feet tall. I'm proud of that fact, except that I can't wear high-heel shoes... That's the biggest bummer. Other than that, it's great being as tall -if not taller- than all the guys. :-D

As I mentioned earlier, I'm a doula. My ultimate goal is to become a midwife (which will hopefully start happening in August 2012) but while I'm waiting on that, being a doula is the next best thing. I absolutely love supporting and encouraging a mom through labor and I still get teary-eyed whenever I see a baby take its first breath (and I've seen that happen 12 times so far!). As far as birth goes, I'm very supportive of natural birth, but I understand if an epidural becomes necessary.

Also, I'm a photographer. Last summer, when I started this blog, I only had a "bridge camera" (the middle ground between a point and shoot and a DSLR) and figured out how to take competent photos with that. However, I got a DSLR since then and my photos have even gotten better. I love the expression and fun that comes with photography, especially when I use manual focus. :-D

Anyway, in case you were actually wondering about who I am, I'm the oldest of seven kids and am still a student. I am a Christian and love Jesus with all my might. Having been in China twice to adopt my younger sisters, I have a love for foreign countries and I hope to go become a midwife in the Philippines in August 2012. Some of my favorite activities are photography (duh!), reading, writing, crocheting, playing with my baby sister, and shopping. If there's anything else you wish to know about me, feel free to contact me!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Satisfied in Christ,
Danielle Wilson
